Spring 2008
A Finished Work
The recent Easter season is not the only special time to magnify the glorious, finished work of Jesus Christ. It is vital to remember
everyday of our lives, the day that Jesus gave His life to secure an eternal redemption for us. Every character, from Jesus Himself, each disciple and soldier, the one who carried the cross, the other who provided the tomb, to even the donkey Jesus rode on, played a particular role. There is one key figure, that without the part He played, we would still be lost and without hope. That One is the Holy Spirit. He not only was the Facilitator of the plan of Redemption, but He was the one who set the stage as well. It was through His inspiration that words of prophecy concerning our redemption were declared, beginning in Genesis 3:15 and all the way through in the Old Testament. Jesus was actually conceived by Him, and He coordinated the angelic and stellar advertisement
of Jesus’ birth. Through Anna and Simeon, He confirmed Jesus at His dedication in the temple as well as His baptism. Jesus personally credits the Holy Spirit for leading and anointing all aspects of His supernatural ministry. Finally, when Jesus died after completely finishing His part and committing His spirit into the hands of His Father, it was the Holy Spirit that raised Him from the place of death all the way to the throne in which He is seated today. (Rom. 8:11, 6:4; Eph. 1:19-23) Not only did the Holy Spirit facilitate the will of the Father concerning Jesus alone, but in the resurrection, we were raised as well. (Rom. 6:4; Eph. 2:5-6) Now as believers, we have a Heavenly Helper, just like Jesus had. The Father sent the Holy Spirit to help us at Jesus’ request and He has come to not only be with us, but also in us. Jesus described how we could expect the Holy Spirit to help us in John 14, 15, and 16. He will:
• Convince the world of sin
• Teach us all things
• Glorify and testify about Jesus
• Show us things to come
• Take things from God and show them to us He is our personal tutor in every area of life and ministry as we see in 1 Cor. 2:9- 12 (GNB). However, as the scripture says, “What no one ever saw or heard, what no one ever thought could happen, is the very thing God prepared for those who love him.” But it was to us that God made known His secret by means of His Spirit. The Spirit searches everything, even the hidden depths of God’s purposes. It is only our own spirit within us that knows all about us. In the same way, only God’s Spirit knows all about God. We have not received this world’s spirit; instead, we have received the Spirit sent by God, so that we may know all that God has given us. The One who helped Jesus has been sent to help us too. Look to Him, acknowledge Him, follow Him, and He will lead you into all the truth you need to walk and work with Him. Let’s remember in these days that when we were filled with the Holy Spirit, we were given a language to communicate with God. Let’s continue to pray beyond our intelligence, understanding, and ability. As we pray with the help of the Holy Spirit, He is able to tutor us into the things that God has planned for us in every area of life.
PAPUA NEW GUINEA
An Update from Tony – Rhema School of Ministry started September 2001 in the capital,
Port Moresby as an extension school from Rhema Australia on the Gold Coast. This school now has 557
graduates who have been trained and filled with theWord of God; many pioneered churches. I was
honoured to be the speaker for the most recent graduation in December 2007 and witnessed and heard
glorious testimonies of what has transpired through these graduates. Pastor Nigel Darch has directed this
school since the beginning and his church has been the primary sponsor to this work. If you are
prompted to give into this work in Papua New Guinea, mark your offerings “PNG.”
A NOTE TO OUR FAITHFUL PARTNERS
What a full and glorious year this has been to this point! The Lord has given us wonderful meetings in Australia, as well as America,
Papa New Guinea, Indonesia, and New Zealand in these first four months. We appreciate your faithfulness in giving so we can “get
there”! There is much to do as we prepare to launch Rhema Online for Australia and New Zealanders and we felt directed to not return
to the States for the summer weeks as we have normally done. Even though we don’t have the opportunity to see you personally, always know that we thank God for you at every remembrance and trust that you will grow this year in the conscious awareness of the truth that God is inside you and is your source of ALL you need!
FROM LILIANA & ANNALISA:
We are having winter twice this year. We were in America in the month January and now we’re heading into winter again here in Australia! We have recently updated our page on the website. Have a look! An Update from Patsy-When I was a young girl, the Lord put a desire in my heart concerning orphans. Years later, I recognized this desire to not only pray for, but also to help them, was God’s own desire toward orphans. By His grace, He made it clear to me that He has a special part in His plan reserved for children with no father. He would be their Father; to love and provide for them and use them especially for His glory. His love is being displayed all over the world through those that are giving to these little ones who have nothing in their hands to give back. Hope for Children was started for this purpose; to not just say that God loves the orphan, but to actually put action to those words. We have recently taken in 5 more children into this first home. We are wanting to get a MUCH needed vehicle costing $5000 for the Pastor who heads up the orphanage. To see more pictures and get more details, look at Hope for Children on our website.
